Free day at the museum? I don't think so

Today is a free day at our local nature and science museum. I had planned on taking the Midge, but after spending yesterday driving 50 miles to the hairdresser's, tennis, the store, etc., I decided the round-trip to the museum (about 30 miles) is just too far to venture out for when you consider the cost of gas. Instead, after the Midge's art class, which is about 1 mile away from our house, we're headed to the pool (another mile from our house) and then karate lessons this afternoon (less than a mile from our house).

The high-cost of gas is definitely making me rethink our daily outings....

    You are right. I figured out that every 10 miles I drive cost me $2, so I am staying home more.

    Isn't it awful? Especially when you have a young child and want to give your child opportunities. And in Chicago, I'm much too scared to ride a bike around the city, much less with my child!

    Its good to recognize wants from needs and I bet your DD loves going to the pool.
