Frugal news

April 5th, 2008 at 01:56 am

I just read

Text is this and Link is http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/04/03/frugal.strategies.ap/index.html
this on CNN and thought of everyone here.

I was stunned by the sentence that said the average American family spends $800 to $900 a month on groceries. I don't think I've ever paid this much for groceries in one month even before I started shopping with coupons....

I've never paid that much either, and we are a family of four.

When we were feeding three teenage boys we didn't spend that much. I didn't use many coupons, either.
I'm involved with some online women's groups dealing with homemaking and cooking and am constantly amazed at what some people spend.

Well I'm odd man out I guess, we have not had three kids home for about 8-9 years now and shoot I think we spent that easy.

I spend less than half of that eating out almost every night!
