Survey says....

May 7th, 2007 at 05:42 pm

I'm still undecided about the value of doing online surveys that pay. I signed up on a number of different survey sites a while back after reading posts here about it being easy money.

For me, it has not been easy money for numerous reasons:

1. It seems like the surveys take too much time away from my business and my family.

2. I have yet to get one to pay off because I've either not made it all the way through a survey since I didn't fit certain specifications or the prize for the survey was something other than cash.

3. I saw a huge increase in junk email after signing up on three or four different survey sites.
I abhor junk email.

So for now I'm just trashing all the surveys, but I would be interested to hear what others think about surveys for pay.

I have signed up with several survey sites as well and haven't made much money at all. I always end up being disqualified or they already have enough participants. Just today, though, I recieved $5 from doing a survey from Pinecone. I don't expect that much money from the surveys but the money that I do get can be helpful. If you are worried about spam, I suggest that you open a separate email account for just doing surveys so that if you are bombarded with spam then it is not your main account that is spammed.

I totally agree with you. I receive way too much junk email since signing on to do surveys. They only one that has paid, to date is Pinecone. I don't even read the others-just delete them now.

The one I have made the most off of, is nfomysurvey, about $60 so far. I just received a pinecone check today. Those are the only 2 that I mess with, the others are too time consuming.

I've only ever gotten one survey from Pinecone since signing up a couple months ago, but payment was fast. I've had really good luck with American Consumer Opinion Panel and Your2Cents. I get a check from Your2Cents about once every 3 weeks or so and one from ACOP every month or so. I also have gotten paid by Lightspeed and NFOMySurvey, but they are points systems and you have to get 1000 or 1200 points to cash out for $10. Which isn't bad on a 300 point survey but gets annoying on the 10 to 50 point ones. SurveySpot eventually pays but you have to do a lot of non-paying ones to qualify for the paying ones.

If I had to choose just 3 I'd go with Pinecone first, Your2Cents second and ACOP third.
