I'm a compulsive debtor in recovery who's working hard to dig her family out of the credit card pit.

CHALLENGE BALANCE AS OF 06.30.08: $10,922.86
Today was payday where I hold a part time job. Unfortunately, we receive paper checks every week instead of direct deposit. Cracker Barrel's turnover rate is extremely high, so direct deposit just isn't financially feasible for the company to provide.
Anyways, I went to deposit my check except for the odd amount. For example, let's say the check is $238.16. I make the deposit slip to reflect $38.16 that I get as cash back and $200 gets deposited into my checking account. The cash back would then go into my wallet for cash purchases. But now that I've joined the $20 challenge, I will put a nice size chunk of that cash into a very large plastic Coke bottle "piggy" bank. This is also where I dump all my single bills and occasional 5s and 10s. The nice thing about using that bottle is I'm planning on cramming bills into it, yet it won't weight much more than if it was empty. ;-D
