Free flowers

April 3rd, 2008 at 10:52 pm

While standing around after the shindig last night thinking about how much my feet hurt in high heels and wondering when my husband would be done chatting up some stuffy guys in suits, I was approached by a banquet worker carrying a tray of centerpieces from the evening's dinner. She asked if I would like to take one home. (This was after the event was over.)

My husband paused long enough to say "Yes, she would" before carrying on his conversation.

I'm thinking this is his way of saying "Thank you" for being his arm candy despite being a walking germ factory. What a deal he got, huh.....

They are, aren't they BA? Let this be a lesson to you if you want to impress a girl: haul her out from her sick bed, talk shop all night while she's left to entertain herself by wondering if the old guy seated next to her is dead or just napping, then get her some really cheap (i.e. free) flowers....

LOL @ "is dead or just napping"! Very funny, although probably not so much for the one enduring it. I'm sure your hubby appreciated it though, and at least you got SOMETHING out of it!

Hey, I forgot to mention I also got a pedometer out of it (health organization trying to promote exercise.) I have about 10 of these little babies lying around (they don't really work well with running), so it'll make a nice addition to my collection. I wonder what would happen if I clipped one on a dog.....

I can't even look at that. I'm up to my ears in flowers here. Although, on any other day I'm sure they'd be beautiful.

CD: Um... yeah... thank you for the advice. I'll be sure to remember that one whenever I feel like sleeping on the couch. Big Grin

Oh, and I bet the flowers smell like spring. I love fresh cut flowers, especially from my garden and lilac trees. They really do help with the mood. Enjoy.
