What I'm reading....

Two of my many jobs involve reading books for pay. Some of the books are new releases, some are upcoming releases and some are long-ago releases.

Even though this is a financial blog, I thought I would start a regular feature listing the books I'm currently reading -- as if any of you care. However, to keep this in the financial realm, I recommend that you borrow these books from your local library or go to someplace like Paperbackswap.com instead of rushing over to Amazon.com or some other for-profit business to buy them.

So, without further ado, here are the books I'm currently reading:

Affluenza: The All-Consuming Epidemic by John De Graaf, David Wann and Thomas H. Naylor

Black Monday by R. Scott Reiss

Deception Point by Dan Brown

What kind of a job pays you to read books? Is this something you do at home? Are they hiring?

I must say, getting paid to read books is my idea of the ideal job. How does one get a job like that - sign me up!

If I told you what I did to get paid to read books for a living, I would then be risking my anonymity. But I will say I have a few too many higher degrees and it's actually two of my jobs that pay me to read books. Aside from that, they are in no way related to one another.

Hmmm... now you're all wondering. Is she a publishing agent and CIA operative, who reads books to uncover the subliminal messages in each??? Or simply a librarian with a side business that involves books?????

Do you ever read financial books because that would be extremely helpful to this forum. Most of us do read and reccommend books that we read but we're all coming from different viewpoints and experiences. It would be great for someone like yourself that can give a quick heads up on books. I know that it would be very much appreciated.
